How can I tame my messy purse?
by Jamie Novak

PROBLEM?
My purse is an absolute mess! I have a large pocketbook because with three children, I carry a lot of stuff. But finding things is a nightmare. I can’t even leave the house on time because my keys are always lost somewhere in the bottom of my bag’s rubble.

SOLVED!
I feel your pain, but you do have a few choices. First, must you toss your keys into the black hole? Is there an outside pocket the keys can go into? If not, try using an oversized key chain, perhaps something with a small stuffed animal on it so you can easily spot and grab the keys. In order to organize the whole caboodle, try containing like items together in pouches—colorful makeup bags work well. Use a single color per category, so you can easily find what you’re looking for: snacks in a purple pouch, makeup in blue, or coupons in green. Another option is to purchase an organizing insert that wraps around the inside perimeter of your purse (starting at $18, purseket.com). These inserts offer multiple compartments, and some even come with a small light. One more tip: Buy a brightly colored wallet, which will at least make it easy to find your money.
